1. Mother & Daughter

Lawyer and Highschool

Flew down
Prom – music in the background, prepared at home, friends met up for snacks and pictures.  Harirdresser who you know well, only a year. Happy with the results.
Did your makeup self
Nails the day before.
Someone you like,
Don’t want to feel obligated to chat, good at letting you be or chatting with you.
Nails with mother or daughter. Did with friends more there, it was something to do and less expensive.
Females together, went to someone’s house and got ready together.  Went to a hairdresser and then to the house to change.
Sister in law, just got ready at the house.
Both got nails done but not hair.
Get dressed in one place.
Need to accommodate for a group.
Guest of a wedding wouldn’t do it.
In the wedding, larger group, Hair Makeup and Nails and change $100 or less.



KEY LEARNINGS:
-Wouldn’t go for a friends wedding, only if they’re in it.
-Get their nails done often.


Students #2
16 and 17
Summer program for students – Cali Law and Medicine from New Jersey
2 Weeks on campus together
-Wedding, formal, problem
-Quincineras
-16th birthday did your own, mom did your hair, do my own makeup.
-Do fingernails byself and get your toes done.
-Do acrylics if you’re going to be there for a while.
-Nails done $25, combo for $40.
-Bad so sketchy.
-Never comes out right
-Painful experience, hurts too much.
-Need to see that the tools are clean.
-Don’t speak up if it doesn’t hurt.
-Get ready with other people, bring everything over.
-Always go with friends to do nails, sit together, always go together.
-Enjoy silence when getting pampered.
-Scared they’re gonna charge you more.
-Indian culture wouldn’t work.
-Like convenience worried about price.
-Design is an extra $5 and you don’t like that. Want charges to be up front.
-Don’t want to worry about missing anyting.
-Need variety for teenage girls.
-Ombre nails, and designs are trendy.
-PROM
$80 for the package

-Hair usually $70 but too much.
-Not interested in using their own stuff.
-Don’t care about putting your dress on, need to do it at home so it doesn’t get all messed up.
-Want to take pics at your house.

Laura & Ryan
-Post grad in first year, working as a sales rep and moving down to DC.
-Starting grad school.
-Never went to a salon.
-Prom and Wedding.
-University of Delaware.
-No one went to the salon in the college, too expensive.
-$30 or $40 total for the package.
-$100 to $150 for the package.


Customer #4
Annie and Nancy
-Rising juniors on campus interning here, school of foreign service, MSB job.
-From LA and New Jersey.
-Nails done –and one – once a semester, usually go with a roommate, or by yourself with a wedding.
-Do my own hair, cost primarily and know your style.
-Makeup you know how to do it yourself, you help your friends.
-Don’t get your hair done.
-Blow outs $45.
-Do own makeup and hair, events have friends do it.
-High school went once a month with friends, but now too expensive and don’t care.
-Get ready with roommates.
-No sororities at Georgetown.
-Always an issue for quincineras – difficult to get everyone together and have consistent quality and look.  (up to like 15 girls, and hard to keep it together). Would have been fun to stay together all day.  Nails had to do that and makeup.   Stressed out the main girl and the mother. (always needs to add to 15 somehow)
-Hair and makeup $100-$120
-Wouldn’t spearhead it.



Customer #5
Olivia, Alexandria
From Ohio from the military and travel around
-Saint Lucia wedding with parents, went with moms to do mani/pedis
-Did it all yourself,
-Hair done (every 4 to 5 months)
-Nails done – never done it,
-Do pedicures
-Bridesmaid experience – 2 or 3 times and have been all good
-Got together and did makeup and hair (6 girls), did it at a salon with moms. They brough someone to you and they all did a good job and did it well.
-Don’t like super fancy hair
-Always get pedicure abroad. You aren’t pressured to talk (don’t speak English) totally relaxing. Massages too and the stuff lasts for a long time. Any design.  Always give fresh tea, comfy chairs, tons of designs to choose. Always did a good job, amazing customer service.  Always say welcome. Pride in service. Laid back.
-N-Normally with friends and chat together.
-Hair nails and makeup for one person $50 to $60.
-already spent money $200 is too much,
-top shelf or lower
